Acle Neighbourhood Plan Review
Acle Parish Council has undertaken a review of its 2015 Adopted Neighbourhood Plan in accord with the Neighbourhood Planning (General) Regulations 2012 (as amended).

The independent examination of the proposed Neighbourhood Plan has now concluded and the examiner has issued his final report. The report concludes that, subject to a number of specific, recommended modifications to the proposed Neighbourhood Plan, it can proceed to a local referendum in the community.
The next step is for both Broadland District Council and the Broads Authority to consider the examiner’s recommendations and decide whether or not to progress the new Neighbourhood Plan to a referendum, with or without modifications. Once both local planning authorities have made a decision, a Decision Statement will be published and will be available to view here.

Background
Acle Parish Council submitted a proposed, modified Neighbourhood Plan and supporting documents to Broadland District Council and the Broads Authority in May 2026. The submitted documents were checked by the local planning authorities against the relevant criteria in Schedule 4B of the Town & Country Planning Act 1990 and approved for publication.
In accordance with Regulation 16 of the Neighbourhood Planning (General) Regulations, 2012 (as amended), there followed a period of consultation on the Neighbourhood Plan, organised by Broadland District Council, between June and July 2026.
Following the consultation, the Neighbourhood Plan was subject to an independent examination. Mr Andrew Ashcroft was appointed to undertake this work, and his final report is available to view in the documents section, below. The submitted Neighbourhood Plan and supporting documents can also be viewed here.
