What goes in your brown garden waste bin?

The garden waste service

  • The service contract for garden waste is between you and the district Council. The contract is not transferrable.
  • You have 14 days following the day on which you place your order, to cancel your contract for the service. Please note that if you have received your brown bin prior to exercising your right to cancel within the 14-day period, a delivery fee of £10 will be deducted from any refund. Any collections that have taken place within that 14-day period will be deducted from the refund at a cost of £2.68 per collection. No further refunds will be given for early cancellation of your contract once the 14-day cooling off period has expired.
  • The District Council will invoice you annually. If your payment is not received by the due date, your contract will be suspended, and the bin will be removed.
  • The garden waste bin remains the property of the district Council.
  • The garden waste bin needs to be on or by the edge of the public highway or pavement by 6:30am on day of collection.
  • If the collection point for your garden waste bin will not be from the front of your property, please contact us so that we can inform the crew and make alternative arrangements.
