Long Stratton Neighbourhood Plan
The parish of Long Stratton and parts of Tharston and Hapton parish have been designated as a Neighbourhood Area. This has allowed Long Stratton Town Council, working together with Tharston and Hapton Parish Council, to prepare a Neighbourhood Plan for the area.
The Neighbourhood Plan and supporting documentation was submitted to South Norfolk Council in January 2021 and was approved for publication and examination. In accordance with Regulation 16 of the Neighbourhood Planning (General) Regulations 2012, a period of consultation on the Neighbourhood Plan ran from Monday 22 March until Thursday 6 May 2021. The plan was subsequently subject to an independent examination and the final report was received on 5 July 2021.
South Norfolk Council considered the examiner's recommendations at its cabinet meeting of 19 July 2021 and issued a decision statement detailing the council's intention to send the Neighbourhood Plan to referendum, subject to modifications being made as specified by the examiner.
A local referendum will be held on Thursday 30 September 2021 in order to determine whether the residents of Long Stratton support the proposed Long Stratton Neighbourhood Plan.
Further information regarding the referendum, including the local planning authorities’ decision statement, the examiner’s reports and the related Neighbourhood Plan documents are available in the documents section, below.
