Swainsthorpe Neighbourhood Plan
In February 2024 South Norfolk Council designated the Swainsthorpe Neighbourhood Area, for the purposes of developing a Neighbourhood Plan (in accord with the Neighbourhood Planning (General) Regulations 2012 (as amended)), following an application from Swainsthorpe Parish Council. The Neighbourhood Area follows the civil parish boundary and the Parish Council is the relevant body for preparing the Neighbourhood Plan.

Following a consultation with the community and other stakeholder bodies on a pre-submission draft of the modified Neighbourhood Plan between 2 December 2025 and 20 January 2026 (in accordance with Regulation 14 of the aforementioned Regulations), the Parish Council has now submitted its proposed, modified Neighbourhood Plan to South Norfolk Council.
The submitted documents have been checked by the local planning authority against the relevant criteria in Schedule 4B of the Town & Country Planning Act 1990 and have now been approved for publication.
In accordance with Regulation 16 of the Neighbourhood Planning (General) Regulations, 2012 (as amended), South Norfolk Council is now consulting on the submitted, modified Neighbourhood Plan. The consultation period runs from 9.00am on 10 June until 5.00pm on 22 July 2026.
Comments (preferably using the Response Form available in the documents section, below) should be sent to neighbourhoodplans@southnorfolkandbroadland.gov.uk.

All responses must be received before the consultation deadline, stated above. They cannot be treated as confidential and, with the exception of personal details, will also be published as part of a summary document on this webpage, at the end of this consultation period. As part of your response, you can also state if you wish to be notified if and when the modified Neighbourhood Plan is formally adopted by South Norfolk Council at a later stage.
