Street lighting in South Norfolk

There are two types of street light:

Footway lights - these are small columns that light residential roads and foot paths

Highway lights - these are larger columns that light larger roads and highways

From 1 April 2019 a number of town and parish councils decided to assume local management of footway lighting apart from the lights in the council owned car parks.

To report a fault with a South Norfolk Council footway light, please email Suffolk Highways the following information:

  • parish
  • street
  • column number (normally visible on the column)
  • location (for example, outside number 88)
