Postwick with Witton Neighbourhood Plan

In 2023 Postwick with Witton Parish Council submitted a Neighbourhood Area application for the purpose of developing a Neighbourhood Plan. The designated area is the whole civil parish and, in accordance with Regulation 5A of the 'Town and Country Planning, England - Neighbourhood Planning (General) Regulations 2012' Broadland District Council has confirmed the designation. The parish council is the relevant body for preparing the Neighbourhood Development Plan.

The Neighbourhood Plan and supporting documentation has been submitted by Postwick with Witton Parish Council to Broadland District Council & The Broads Authority. The submitted documents have been checked by the local planning authority against the relevant criteria in Schedule 4B of the Town & Country Planning Act 1990 and have now been approved for publication.

In accordance with Regulation 16 of the Neighbourhood Planning (General) Regulations, 2012 (as amended), there followed a period of consultation on the Neighbourhood Plan, which took place between 19 March and 2 May 2025. The Neighbourhood Plan subsequently underwent an independent examination. Mr Andrew Ashcroft was appointed to undertake the work his final report has been published in the documents section, below.

Broadland District Council and the Broads Authority will shortly be making a decision on whether to incorporate the examiner's suggested modifications before progressing the plan to a local referendum. Further information will be available on this page shortly.
