Time running out to apply for nature boosting grants

Trees and a path

Communities across South Norfolk have just one month left to apply for grants of up to £10,000 to enhance local green spaces and promote biodiversity.

The Nature Conservation Fund is a pilot scheme launched by South Norfolk Council to support projects that deliver environmental benefits while enriching the lives of local residents.

Council Leader, Cllr Daniel Elmer, said:

This fund is a brilliant opportunity to shape the future of South Norfolk’s natural spaces. We’re proud to back local communities in turning their green ideas into reality—whether that’s boosting biodiversity, tackling climate change, or creating welcoming places for people to enjoy the outdoors. These projects will leave a lasting legacy for generations to come. If you’ve got a vision for your local environment, now’s the time to act—don’t miss your chance to make a real and lasting difference.

Grants of up to £10,000 are available. The fund is open to projects that:

• Reduce carbon emissions

• Support biodiversity

• Create or improve accessible green spaces

Examples of eligible projects include the creation of circular walking routes, wildlife-friendly ponds, and the planting of mini-forests.

Town and Parish Councils, community groups, charities, schools, and landowners are encouraged to express their interest.

Check eligibility and learn more about the application process.

Deadline for expressions of interest is 30 June 2025.
