The Big South Norfolk Litter Pick launches in March

Help make South Norfolk clean and tidy organise a litter pick today!

South Norfolk Council is once again working with its communities to give the districts a big spring clean.

South Norfolk Council’s Big Litter Pick launches 1 March and the council is asking local schools, parish councils and community groups to get involved. To encourage participation the Council is offering 20 prizes of £200 to be spent on supporting the community.

South Norfolk Council’s Cabinet Member for Cleaner, Safer Environment, Cllr Keith Kiddie, said:

“Hundreds of residents get involved in our litter pick every year and it’s always fantastic to see our communities pulling together and taking a pride in the place they live. Last year more than 1,000 volunteers took part and helped us by collecting 750 bags of litter. That is a tremendous effort and I would like to thank everyone for lending us a hand.”

The council provides advice and equipment, and when the event is finished, it can arrange for the litter to be collected.

The big litter pick will run until the end of May and every school, parish council and community group that takes part has the chance to win £200 to spend in their community.

There are twenty £200 prizes up for grabs and every group that takes part will be given a £20 voucher to spend on their group, charity or local community.
