South Norfolk: Last chance to nominate your community hero

So far, South Norfolk Council have shared over 70 inspiring stories of individuals and groups on the council’s Facebook and Twitter pages as part of their COVID-19 Community Heroes scheme.

Councillor Yvonne Bendle, Portfolio Holder for Better Lives, said:

“It has been truly heart-warming to read these stories and learn of the sheer selflessness and community spirit that is thriving in our district. We have a wonderful sense of community and this crisis has really emphasised that. Those nominated should be incredibly proud of their actions and the difference they have made to people’s lives.”

Recently the council received a nomination for Dickleburgh Store, where staff have worked tirelessly to provide an extremely high level of service and care to their customers.

They facilitated prescriptions for those who couldn’t get out, delivered shopping to the vulnerable and even personally shopped in the local town when they didn’t have the stock themselves.

Both shop and post office have been on the ball with safety precautions, making sure staff and customers stay safe.

Their commitment to the community, willingness to go the extra mile and the happy smiling staff have made a huge difference to the lives of people in the village.
