New planning information on major projects
Broadland and South Norfolk Councils have created new pages on their website, relating specifically to Nationally Significant Infrastructure Projects (NSIPs) within their districts.
The Councils want to help their residents have quick and easy access to information regarding NSIP’s. Both Councils appreciate that negotiating the Nationally Significant Infrastructure Project website hosted by the planning inspectorate, can be time consuming, and it is often difficult to find the documents people actually want.
The new webpages will be continually updated to ensure all stakeholders, including members of their communities and parish councils will have access to the most relevant information.
The pages include information about:
- Nationally Significant Infrastructure Projects explaining what they are, the Development Consent Process and the Local Authorities’ role.
- 'National Policy’ which provides links to the government’s new National Planning Policy Statements.
- Specific NSIP projects by type: National Highways Schemes; Offshore Wind Farms and Electricity.
The pages give an overview of the project, including which district hosts the project and what stage they are at in the process. Links to key documents and information, particularly the Development Consent Order (DCO) as made, if determined, which contains the requirements (conditions) attached to the DCO, land plans and to the developer’s website.
