Paying your business rates bill

South Norfolk - Paying your business rates bill

Our aim is to make it as convenient as possible for you to pay for services that we provide. We therefore offer a number of different payment methods.

Direct Debit

We encourage you to pay by Direct Debit, as this is the quickest, safest and most cost effective way to pay for your Council Tax, business rates and many other services such as your brown garden waste bin.

It also helps to spread the cost of the service and you’re covered by the Direct Debit Guarantee.

If you're unable to sign up online, please download and complete a Direct Debit instruction.

Cash payments

Our offices no longer accept cash payments, please see below for different methods of payment.

Online payments

Use our secure online payment facility to pay by credit or debit card for Council Tax, business rates, Housing Benefit overpayments, temporary accommodation and invoices (including garden brown bins).

We no longer accept Pingit payments through our website, however you can still make payments through your Pingit app. Search for South Norfolk Council and quote the appropriate account reference or invoice number.

Phone payments

Our officers will no longer take card payments but you can still pay for a range of services such as Council Tax, business rates, Housing Benefit overpayments, temporary accommodation and invoices (including garden waste brown bins) using a debit or credit card over the telephone. Simply call our automated payment line 0808 178 7146 which is free to call and is open 24 hours a day. (We are currently experiencing some difficulties with this service. Payments can still be made online. We apologise for any inconvenience.)

Telephone/internet banking or Bacs

You can make your payment directly into our bank account using the details:

  • Sort Code: 20-26-42
