The names of the General Election candidates have been published

The candidates contesting the General Election have been unveiled.
The names of the candidates standing in the Broadland and Fakenham, Norwich North and South Norfolk constituencies can be seen on our Election webpage.
Nominations closed at 4pm on Friday 7 June 2024.
The General Election takes place on Thursday, 4 July, with the votes being counted overnight and declared in the early hours of Friday 5 July.
In order to vote in these important elections, residents must be on the electoral register.
- The deadline to register to vote is midnight on 18 June. It takes just five minutes to register to vote online.
- The deadline to apply for a postal vote is 5pm on 19 June. Apply for a postal vote online.
- For a proxy vote the deadline is 5pm on 26 June. Apply for a proxy vote online.
It is a requirement at these elections for all voters attending at polling stations to take with them one form of photo ID, such as a driving license, passport or bus pass. There is a Voter Authority Certificate available, free of charge, for those who don’t have any of the prescribed types of ID.
It is important to check now if you have one of the accepted types of ID and, if not, to apply now for a Voter Authority Certificate for free.
