The Big Broadland Litter Pick launches in March

Broadland District Council is once again working with its communities to give the districts a big spring clean.
Broadland District Council’s Big Litter Pick launches 1 March and the council is asking local schools, parish councils and community groups to get involved. To encourage participation the Council is offering 20 prizes of £200 to be spent on supporting the community.
Broadland District Council’s Cabinet Member for Environmental Excellence, Cllr Jan Davis, said:
“This year we’d love as many groups as possible to join in and give the district a spring clean. We live in such a beautiful part of the world and with your help, we will keep it that way. Last year, 500 volunteers collected more than 300 bags of rubbish and I would like to thank everyone who took part. It would be great if we could do even more this year so, sign up for a Litter Pick and you may even bag yourself £200 to spend on your community group!”
The council provides advice and equipment, and when the event is finished, it can arrange for the litter to be collected. The big litter pick will run until the end of May and every school, parish council and community group that takes part has the chance to win £200 to spend in their community.
There are twenty £200 prizes up for grabs and every group that takes part will be given a £20 voucher to spend on their group, charity or local community.
