Step into Broadland’s past this September

Blicking Hall

Broadland’s rich and varied history will be celebrated this September as part of England’s largest festival of history and culture. Supported by Broadland District Council, Heritage Open Days runs from 12 to 21 September 2025, offering a wide range of free events, exhibitions and guided tours across the district.

From Jacobean architecture to Roman relics, Victorian churches and WWII stories, this year’s programme invites residents and visitors to explore Broadland’s hidden heritage.

Cllr Caroline Karimi-Ghovanlou, Chair of Broadland District Council, said:

Heritage Open Days are a brilliant way to celebrate the unique stories and landscapes that make Broadland so special. It’s a chance to explore hidden gems, meet passionate volunteers and enjoy hands-on activities that connect us to our past. I encourage everyone to explore the fascinating heritage on their doorstep.
