Spreading support this Christmas

Older hand holding younger hands

As the festive season approaches, South Norfolk and Broadland District Councils are reminding residents that they are here to help those who need it most.

The Help Hub, a collaborative effort among partner organisations, offers a wide range of practical support, advice and guidance during the holiday period and beyond.

South Norfolk Cabinet Member, Cllr Graham Minshull, said:

Christmas should be a time of warmth and community. If you're struggling, whether with money, mental health, or just feeling alone, please contact us. Our Help Hub is here with practical and compassionate support.”

Broadland District Council’s Cabinet Member, Councillor Natasha Harpley, said:

Christmas can be a time when people may need a bit of extra help or support. Domestic abuse, loneliness and debt are all problems that can be exacerbated at this time of year. But you don’t have to suffer in silence, our Help Hub and our Community Connectors are here for you and can get you the support you need.”

The Help Hub provides specialist support across many areas, including advice on benefits and access to the Household Support Fund, guidance for those facing money worries or debt and help with housing and homelessness.

Residents can also receive assistance with employment and training opportunities, as well as mental health and wellbeing support. For those coping with bereavement, caring responsibilities, or domestic abuse, the Help Hub offers sensitive and tailored advice.

Families and children can access dedicated services, and practical help is also on hand through the Handyperson Service, alongside opportunities to connect with local groups and reduce isolation. If you or someone you know needs support, contact the Help Hub.
