South Norfolk residents are invited to have their say on future village housing plans

The Village Clusters Housing Allocations Plan sits alongside the wider Greater Norwich Local Plan and identifies housing sites within South Norfolk to help meet housing needs up to 2038.

The document is currently being examined by the Planning Inspectorate and following a series of hearing sessions earlier this year, the Inspector has proposed a series of Main Modifications. South Norfolk Council is now launching a public consultation to gather feedback on these changes before the Plan progresses to the next stage.

The consultation opens on 14 September 2026 and provides an opportunity for residents, businesses, parish councils, landowners and other interested parties to review the proposed Main Modifications and submit their comments.

South Norfolk Cabinet member, Lisa Overton-Neal said:

Planning for the future of our villages is vital to ensuring our communities continue to thrive. This consultation gives local people a valuable opportunity to review the proposed changes to the Village Clusters Housing Allocations Plan and have their say on how housing needs are met across South Norfolk over the coming years.

"We want to encourage as many residents, businesses and stakeholders as possible to get involved, review the proposals and share their views. Community feedback plays an important role in the planning process and helps ensure decisions reflect local priorities."

Consultation documents will be available online through the Council's Local Plan consultation website ( https://southnorfolkandbroadland.oc2.uk/ )making it easy for people to review the proposed changes and submit comments. Printed copies of the consultation materials will also be available to view at local libraries across the district.

The consultation will run until 26 October 20026, and all comments received will be considered by the planning Inspector, as part of the ongoing plan-making process.
