South Norfolk honours local heroes at annual awards

Winners of South Norfolk Council's Community Awards 2025

Community spirit was in full swing at Bawburgh Golf Club on Friday night (4 July) as South Norfolk Council celebrated the outstanding contributions of its residents at the 2025 Community Awards.

The event brought together local leaders, volunteers, and proud family members to celebrate those who go the extra mile for their communities. Ten awards were handed out, each spotlighting a remarkable story of dedication, creativity, and heartfelt compassion.

South Norfolk Council Chair, Cllr Deborah Sacks, said:

These awards are a celebration of the people who make South Norfolk such a vibrant and caring place to live. Each winner has shown extraordinary commitment, and their stories are a powerful reminder of the strength and energy that exists in our communities.

Among the evening’s winners was Martha Hulse, named Young Achiever of the Year for her work as a Young Commissioner with South Norfolk Youth Advisory Board. The Business in the Community Award went to The Wheel of Fortune Public House, recognised for its role as a hub of local support and engagement.
