South Norfolk Council elects new Chair

At South Norfolk Council’s AGM, held on Monday 19 May 2024, Councillor Deborah Sacks was elected as Chair and Councillor Kathryn Cross was elected to the post of Vice-Chair.

At the same meeting Councillor Daniel Elmer was elected as South Norfolk Council’s Leader for a second year.

Councillor Elmer also announced an unchanged Cabinet team.

The Cabinet is:

  • Dan Elmer, Leader with cross cutting responsibilities.
  • Graham Minshull, Deputy Leader and Communities.
  • Richard Elliott, Resources and Innovation.
  • Keith Kiddie, Environment
  • Kim Carsok, Health and Leisure.
  • Lisa Overton-Neal, Planning and Economic Growth.

South Norfolk Council Chair, Deborah Sacks said that it was an honour to be the first Labour member elected to the role and said she would be supporting the Ted Ellis Trust during her time in office.

During the meeting Councillor Sharon Blundell was presented with a testimonial by the new Chair in recognition of her service to the Council.

Councillor Blundell raised £5,208 while in office, to be shared between Costessey First Responders and MTM Youth Services
