South Norfolk communities bag cash prizes

People litter picking in a field

Twenty different community groups have won a share of £4,000, in this year’s Big South Norfolk Litter Pick, organised by South Norfolk Council.

Over 50 groups held an event from March to June, collecting over 700 bags of rubbish and recycling from across the district. All the groups received £20 for participating and were entered into a prize draw to win £200, to be spent on their group, charity, or local community.

South Norfolk Council’s Cabinet Member Cllr Keith Kiddie, who picked the lucky winners at random, said:

“What a fantastic effort by all our wonderful volunteers. Not only does the district look absolutely brilliant, but it’s also much safer for our wildlife, they should be very proud of their achievement. Thank you to all the groups that took part to help keep the district looking its best and congratulations to those who won.”

The winners are:
