Opening of new Community Hall in Stoke Holy Cross

Monday (17 February) saw the official opening of the new community hall in Stoke Holy Cross.
The Parish Council were joined by volunteers from the local community, representatives from South Norfolk Council and others who helped bring this decade long project to life.
The hall was completed in November last year when it saw the village pre-school move into the Ofsted approved classroom. It has been fully open for general use since January and is already proving very popular with local groups and organisations such as yoga, art groups and party bookings.
Funding for the project included a significant grant from the South Norfolk Council Infrastructure Fund which was secured in 2023.
South Norfolk Council Cabinet member, Lisa Overton-Neal said:
“I would like to congratulate everyone who has been involved in delivering the new community hall. The Council was delighted to help move the project forward using our Co-Investment fund, which is designed to support significant community infrastructure projects with match funding. The fund is there to enable projects like this that demonstrate ‘excellence’ and deliver strategic value not only to the Parish but also the surrounding villages.”
Parish Council Chair, Sandy Collins expressed her delight at the success of the project saying:
"It’s wonderful to see the community hall is already becoming a social hub for Stoke Holy Cross, providing a versatile space for events and activities within the area."
