Now’s the perfect time for a career placement with Broadland and South Norfolk Councils!

Future Path - Build the future you want

Future Paths is a career placement programme looking for qualities, not qualifications.

Our teams at Broadland and South Norfolk Councils are planning the towns of the future, helping to improve the environment and keeping our communities safe. You could join them.

We are offering an opportunity to work in one of our teams for two to six weeks over the summer holidays. We will coach and guide you through the world of work to get you ready for a career of your own.

Whether you are heading on to further education or hoping to start your career immediately, then this could be the opportunity for you. You don't need any qualifications to be considered, all you need to do is show us your skills and enthusiasm to start building the career you want.

Additional skills training, including C.V. writing and what to do in an interview, will also be available to help you find employment in the future. The placements are unpaid, but small bursaries may be available to help applicants with travel costs and any other costs they may encounter by taking part in the programme.

South Norfolk Council’s Cabinet Member for Stronger Economy, Councillor Lisa Neal, said:

“As a Council we are committed to supporting residents in as many ways as possible in their career development. Future Paths provides a great chance for anyone, no matter their previous experience, to join the Council for a limited period, and gain valuable insight and experience.”

Broadland District Council’s Portfolio Holder for Economic Development, Cllr Jo Copplestone, said:

“The scheme offers an amazing opportunity to join us for a career placement and to experience what it is really like to work for the Council. We are looking for enthusiastic passionate individuals hoping to take the next step towards future employment – if that is you then make sure you apply before the end of April.’

Applications are welcomed from anyone over 16 years old, and close on 30 April 2022. To find out more and to apply visit our Future Paths webpage.
