Nominate your community champions
An annual awards scheme that celebrates South Norfolk’s unsung heroes was launched today (10 March) by District Councillor Sharon Blundell.
South Norfolk Council’s Community Awards highlight the work of local volunteers that go the extra mile to make a positive difference to people’s lives and the environment.
Chair of South Norfolk Council, Cllr Blundell, said:
“There are some incredible residents all over the district who are changing lives for the better. It’s these community-minded residents that help make South Norfolk such a great place to live, work and visit. This is your chance to shine a spotlight on their incredible work by nominating them for South Norfolk Council’s Community Awards and showing them just how much they’re valued.”
There are nine categories each designed to recognise different contributions to the community. They are:
- Healthy & Active Award
- Young Achiever of the Year
- Volunteer of the Year
- Connecting Communities Award
- Environmental Champion Award
- Business in the Community Award
- Community Organisation of the Year
- Lifetime Achievement Award
- Town or Parish Councillor of the Year
It’s really simple to nominate, just visit our South Norfolk Community Awards page and tell the Council why your nominee deserves to be recognised.
Winners will receive a £250 donation to give to a local charitable organisation of their choice. S
Shortlisted nominees will be invited to a special awards night on 4 July 2025 at Bawburgh Golf Club, where the winners will be announced.
Nominations close on 30 May 2025.
