Businesses in South Norfolk are being urged to prepare for new Simpler Recycling legislation coming into effect on 1 April 2025.

The new rules will require businesses with more than 10 employees to separate food waste for collection and South Norfolk Council is making compliance really easy by offering a simple and reliable food waste collection service.

From 1 April 2025, the Council is providing practical solutions for all business types, offering a variety of bin sizes to suit individual needs. Businesses can choose from a 240-litre or 120-litre food waste bin, or the option of a 23-litre food waste caddy.

South Norfolk Council Cabinet member, Keith Kiddie said:

“We understand that businesses are busy, and we want to make it as easy as possible for them to comply with the new food waste legislation. Our new food waste collection service offers a simple and reliable answer, helping local businesses to manage their food waste disposal.”

The key benefits of the South Norfolk Council food waste collection service are:

  • Hassle-free collections starting 1 April 2025
  • Helps businesses stay compliant and sustainable
  • Order your bin today and be ready ahead of the deadline

Businesses are encouraged to order their food waste bins today to ensure they are prepared for the 1 April 2025 deadline.
