New drop-in sessions bring support closer to communities
Residents in Hellesdon are being encouraged to take advantage of new Local Area Coordinator drop-in sessions, offering free advice, support and guidance in a welcoming community setting.
Delivered through the Council’s Help Hub, the sessions provide an opportunity for residents to speak directly with Local Area Coordinators about a wide range of issues including housing, money and benefits, health and wellbeing, and finding local groups, services and activities.
The drop-in sessions are designed to help people stay independent, connected and confident by ensuring they can access support before challenges become more difficult to manage. Local Area Coordinators work alongside residents to understand what matters most to them and help them take positive steps forward.
The drop in sessions take place on Wednesday, between 10.00am and 12.00 at the Hellesdon Community Café based in the community centre. Residents can simply turn up and speak to someone in confidence, with no appointment required.
Broadland District Council Leader, Sue Holland said:
We know that many people can find it difficult to know where to turn when they need support. These drop-in sessions are about bringing help directly into communities and making it easier for residents to have a conversation about the challenges they may be facing.
Whether someone needs practical advice, wants to become more involved in their community, or simply needs help finding the right service, our Local Area Coordinators are there to listen and help people take the next step. "This is about supporting residents early, helping people remain independent and strengthening the connections that make our communities such great places to live."
The Local Area Coordinator service focuses on helping residents build confidence, make connections and access support that reflects their individual circumstances.
Support is available to people of all ages, including those experiencing isolation, going through major life changes, managing health conditions or simply looking for ways to become more connected to their community. Residents who are unable to attend a drop-in session can also contact the Help Hub directly by calling 01603 430431 or emailing [email protected].
