New Chair elected by Broadland District Council

At Broadland District Council’s AGM, held on Thursday 21 May 2026, Councillor Adrian Tipple was elected as Chair and Councillor Shane Ward was elected to the post of Vice-Chair.

At the same meeting, Councillor Sue Holland was re-elected as Broadland District Council’s Leader.

Councillor Holland said:

I am grateful to members for placing their trust in me once again. I am proud of what we have achieved for Broadland’s residents, communities and businesses over the past three years, and look forward to building on that progress.”

During the meeting, Councillor Holland announced her Cabinet team.

The Cabinet is:

  • Councillor Sue Holland, Leader.
  • Councillor Natasha Harpley, Deputy Leader and Communities and Housing
  • Councillor Steve Riley, Finance
  • Councillor Dan Roper, Planning
  • Councillor Martin Booth, Economic Development
  • Councillor Jan Davis, Environmental Excellence

Broadland District Council Chair, Adrian Tipple, said that he was honoured to be elected to the role. Councillor Tipple said that he would support Nelson’s Journey during his time in office.

Outgoing Chair, Councillor Caroline Karimi-Ghovanlou, was presented with a testimonial in recognition of her work as Chair. During her time in office, she raised £3,425 for Norwich Door to Door, a charity that provides vital transport services for elderly and disabled residents across the district.
