More financial help available for local businesses

Administered by district councils, the Additional Restrictions Grant is a one-off discretionary grant scheme for qualifying businesses that are not covered by other grant schemes due to not being rated or not legally required to close.

Broadland District and South Norfolk Councils will provide the funding in two phases and the application window for the first phase ends at midnight on 23 December 2020.

To see if your business is eligible for this type of grant, visit the Broadland District Council website or the South Norfolk Council website.

If your business does not meet the eligibility criteria, you may be able to receive support during phase two, which will open by February 2021. If this is the case, please submit an Expression of Interest for phase two to help the two councils understand which businesses still need support (use the link above to access this form).

Cabinet member for South Norfolk Council, Councillor Lisa Neal, said:

“Supporting businesses through these tough times is vital and we are committed to doing everything we can to make sure they can recover in the weeks and months to come.”

Cabinet member for Broadland District Council, Councillor Jo Copplestone, commented:

“I’d urge any businesses who need support to please get in touch and find out what funding they may be eligible for.”

Local Restrictions Support Grants are still available to businesses that were required to close by law during the lockdown between 5 November and 2 December. So far, Broadland District and South Norfolk Councils have each awarded more than £1 million of grants to support local businesses in their districts.
