Making help available in the community

South Norfolk Council is continuing to take its much-valued and essential services into the community with the Help Hub van.
The van, that offers frontline support, travels to the locations across the districts where the council’s services are most requested. No appointment is needed and residents are invited to drop in anytime between 10-4pm.
South Norfolk Council's Cabinet Member for Supporting People, Cllr Graham Minshull, said:
“Our residents’ wellbeing is our top priority and this is about actively looking for opportunities to improve people’s quality of life, rather than waiting for people to come to us. It’s hard to seek help when you need it, much easier to carry on until it gets to a crisis, but if help is right there on the doorstep, then it’s hard to ignore.”
The Help Hub offers support with a range of issues, such as Council Tax, debt advice housing, small home adaptions, employment and training, wellbeing and health, relationships and domestic abuse, benefits and isolation.
The van is a confidential space where can talk one to one with a member of the team. Staff will listen to your needs and provide help and signposting if appropriate. The team is also able to log requests for support so follow up calls can be arranged.
Residents will be able to visit the van in Ditchingham on Thursday 10 October.
The van has been funded for three years by our partners, including South Norfolk Health & Wellbeing Partnership, Broadland Health & Wellbeing Partnership, UKSPF Pride in Place, Sport England, Places for People, Norfolk County Council Early Childhood Community Fund and The National Lottery.
