Major Improvements for Kett’s Park get the green light

The project will deliver significant improvements that will enhance sport, recreation and community facilities for residents of all ages.

The investments will build on the existing leisure provision at Kett’s Park, which has become an increasingly important destination for local sports clubs, families and community groups.

Plans include the creation of an additional full-size 11-a-side 3G football pitch, helping to address growing demand for year-round training and match facilities in the area. The proposals also feature a larger café, improved changing facilities and toilets, a new multi-purpose community room, and the conversion of the existing sports hall into an indoor soft play facility. New pathways around the site would improve accessibility and encourage more informal exercise and recreation.

The improvements are designed to create a modern, flexible and welcoming community hub, supporting everything from grassroots sport and fitness classes to birthday parties, meetings and social activities. The new facilities would help ensure Kett’s Park continues to meet the needs of Wymondham’s growing population while encouraging healthier and more active lifestyle.

South Norfolk Council has already invested significantly in Kett’s Park in recent years, including the installation of a floodlit 3G football pitch and the refurbishment of tennis and netball courts. These improvements have led to increased use of the site and strengthened its role as one of Wymondham’s key community assets.
