Lingwood set for recycling boost

Broadland residents are being encouraged to recycle their unwanted electrical items at a special community recycling event at Lingwood Village Hall on Monday 19 October from 10am to 2pm.
Broadland District Council, in partnership with Veolia, is hosting the event to give residents a convenient way to recycle small household electrical items, helping to reduce waste, recover valuable materials and prevent unwanted electricals from ending up in bins.
Councillor Jan Davis, Broadland District Council's Portfolio Holder for Environmental Excellence, said:
Many of us have old or broken electrical items tucked away in cupboards and drawers. This event makes it easy for residents to recycle them responsibly, helping to protect the environment and ensuring valuable materials can be recovered and reused. I encourage anyone with unwanted electrical items at home to bring them along."
Residents can bring a range of small electrical items for recycling, including kettles, toasters, hairdryers and similar household appliances.
Please note that TVs and monitors cannot be accepted at this event.
The recycling event takes place just days after International E-Waste Day, highlighting the importance of reducing electrical waste and keeping valuable resources in circulation.
