Last chance to nominate Broadland’s community heroes

Organised by Broadland District Council, the awards celebrate the dedication, generosity and community spirit that help make the district a great place to live, work and visit.

Residents are being encouraged to put forward their community heroes before nominations close on 27 August.

Cllr Natasha Harpley, Portfolio Holder of Communities and Housing for Broadland District Council, said:

Every community has people who quietly go above and beyond to support others, improve lives and make a real difference. The Broadland Community Awards are an opportunity to shine a light on those unsung heroes and celebrate everything they do for our district.

If you know an individual, group or business that deserves recognition, please don't leave it too late. Nominating is quick and easy, but with the deadline fast approaching, now is the time to make sure they get the recognition they deserve."

Nominations are being sought across nine categories, recognising a wide range of contributions to community life:

• Healthy & Active Award – Celebrating those who encourage health, wellbeing and active lifestyles.
• Young Achiever of the Year – Honouring an inspiring young person making a positive impact.
• Volunteer of the Year – Recognising a dedicated volunteer who selflessly gives their time.
• Connecting Communities Award – For those who bring people together and strengthen community bonds.
• Environmental Champion Award – Rewarding environmental champions who help protect our environment.
• Business in the Community Award – Showcasing businesses that go above and beyond for their community.
• Community Organisation of the Year – Recognising groups that make a meaningful impact.
• Rising Star Award – An individual or newly formed community organisation that has recently begun their volunteering journey.
• Lifetime Achievement Award – Celebrating someone who has devoted a lifetime to helping others.

Shortlisted nominees will be invited to attend a special awards ceremony at the Royal Norwich Golf Club on Thursday 15 October 2026, where winners will be announced in front of family, friends and community leaders.

Nominating someone is quick and easy. Submit a nomination, nominations close on Thursday 27 August 2026.
