Give your gadgets a green goodbye at Loddon recycling event

South Norfolk Council is giving residents the opportunity to clear out their old electrical items at their next recycling event in Loddon on Monday 19 May.
Residents are invited to bring along all their old, broken or unwanted small household electrical items and electronic devices to Church Plain car park from 10am-2pm. All of the electrical items will then be sent to be dismantled and their separate components recycled.
South Norfolk Cabinet Member, Cllr Keith Kiddie said:
Following the success of our previous events, we're back to help you clear out those old gadgets. Bring along your old laptops, mobile phones, kitchen appliances, and any other electronic devices gathering dust at home.
Small appliances that use a plug or batteries will be accepted at the event. This could include games consoles, kettles, irons, toasters, laptops, mobile phones, microwaves, computer monitors and TVs.
Cllr Kiddie added:
Recycling electronic devices is essential for protecting our environment, conserving valuable resources, and reducing the growing problem of e-waste. By recycling our old, broken or unwanted electricals, we can make a significant impact on the health of our planet and ensure a sustainable future.
Residents can also bring along their old textiles for recycling such as unwanted clothes, shoes, bed linen, curtains and towels.
These items are either reused or sent to be recycled to make new fabric. Please note that the Council is unable to accept pillows, carpets or duvets.
The Council is unable to accept commercial waste or larger appliances such as fridges, freezers or washing machines at this event.
