Funding boost for Broadland communities

Broadland District Council will open applications for its 2026 Community Grant Scheme (CGS) on 1 April, with £50,000 available to support local community led projects.
The scheme provides grants of £1,000 to £15,000 to help deliver substantial initiatives that enhance local facilities or improve residents’ quality of life.
Cllr Natasha Harpley, Chair of the CGS Panel, said:
Our communities deliver incredible work, that is driven by committed volunteers and groups, who are really passionate about where they live. The Community Grant Scheme helps bring their ideas to life, improves facilities, strengthens local networks and supports wellbeing. I strongly encourage any group considering a project, to contact their district councillor and explore how the scheme could support them.”
Recent projects supported through the scheme highlight its positive impact, including the refurbishment of Brundall Scouts’ toilet facilities to improve accessibility, the installation of a new secure storage shed at Hemblington Pre School for outdoor learning equipment (pictured), and the replacement of outdated windows and doors at Reedham Village Hall and the sports pavilion.
All applications will be reviewed by the CGS Panel, which will meet in July 2026 to allocate funding. There will also be a further opportunity for groups to apply to the scheme later in the year.
Community groups interested in applying are encouraged to contact their local district councillor as soon as possible to begin the process
