Flying the flag to show support

In a powerful display of solidarity and unwavering support South Norfolk Council is flying the Ukrainian flag at its headquarters on Broadland Business Park.

South Norfolk Council’s Leader, Daniel Elmer said:

Flying the Ukrainian flag is a symbol of the Council’s continued commitment to the Ukrainian people, who are bravely defending their freedom and democratic values.

The Ukrainian flag is a beacon of hope, of freedom and of unwavering strength and this act of support serves as a reminder of the global community's responsibility to stand with those fighting for their independence and a just peace. Slava Ukraini.”

At the start of the conflict, South Norfolk Council threw open its doors to help refugees fleeing the war and with the help of its residents housed more Ukrainians than any other district in the county.
