Deadline approaching for £150,000 Bloom Fund

Flowers

South Norfolk Council is urging parish and town councils and community groups to act quickly, as the deadline is fast approaching to apply for a share of £150,000 to help South Norfolk’s towns and villages bloom.

Launched on 6 March, the South Norfolk in Bloom Fund offers matched funding to support planting and environmental projects that improve local green spaces and encourage biodiversity. Applications close this Sunday, 19 April.

The fund supports a wide range of initiatives, including wildflower verges, pollinator friendly planting, refreshed village greens, community orchards and eye catching floral displays. The aim is to help communities enhance their local environment while supporting wellbeing and nature.

Matched funding means successful applicants can double their investment, with each project contributing to a wider ambition to make South Norfolk greener and more welcoming. With around 150,000 residents across the district, the fund has the potential to unlock up to £300,000 of investment in community led environmental improvements.

The South Norfolk in Bloom Fund forms part of the Council’s wider commitment to backing local communities. Alongside this scheme, the Council is investing over £1 million in community support, including a £500,000 Community Action Fund, a £500,000 Community Facilities Grant, and increased members’ ward funding, which has been doubled from £1,000 to £2,000. Applications close on Sunday 19 April.

Further information and details on how to apply can be found on the funding pages.
