The council has agreed to allocate funding for 2026/27 and 2027/28 to continue delivery of its successful Broadland Business Builder Programme, which supports entrepreneurs, start-ups and established businesses looking to invest and grow.

The programme is expected to support over 100 businesses over the next two years through a range of assistance, including grants of between £1,000 and £5,000, alongside specialist advice and guidance.

The new programme funded entirely by Broadland District Council follows the end of previous national funding streams and ensures Broadland businesses continue to have access to support at every stage of their development.

This new two-year funding commitment underlines our determination to help businesses thrive and grow, while freezing council tax for a second consecutive year."

The Business Builder Programme has been designed to support entrepreneurs and businesses at every stage of their journey. Whether someone is taking their first steps towards launching a new venture, growing a young business or investing in an established company, the programme offers a combination of expert guidance and financial assistance to help turn ambitions into reality.

Aspiring business owners can access support to develop their ideas and build the foundations needed to start trading, while newer businesses can apply for grants of up to £1,000 to help accelerate their growth. More established businesses that are looking to invest, expand or overcome barriers to growth can apply for grants of up to £5,000 towards approved business development projects.

By providing targeted support across the business lifecycle, the council hopes to encourage innovation, create jobs and help local enterprises make a lasting contribution to Broadland's economy.
