Council keeps gyms fit for purpose

South Norfolk Council has significantly enhanced their leisure centres at Wymondham and Long Stratton.
This forms part of their ongoing commitment to provide first-class facilities that improve the health and wellbeing of residents.
South Norfolk Council’s Cabinet Member for Health and Leisure, Councillor Kim Carsok, said:
In addition to our exciting investments at Diss, we have also made significant improvements to our leisure centres at Wymondham and Long Stratton. Our Centres are incredibly popular, with nearly 100,000 visits in the last 12 months. These upgrades will ensure customers can continue to access high quality modern facilities that offer great value for money.
At Wymondham, visitors can now enjoy:
- Brand new flooring throughout the upper and lower gym.
- Five new pieces of equipment, including a Hack Squat and Pec Deck.
- Complete redecoration with new neon lighting, creating a vibrant and motivating environment. At Long Stratton, the enhancements include:
- All new cardio equipment, featuring Stairmasters, treadmills, cross trainers, and bikes.
- New flooring throughout the gym and class studio.
- A dedicated stretching and core area in the gym, offering more space for targeted workouts.
The two Centres offer over 130 fitness classes a week, catering to a wide range of interests and fitness levels.
Whether residents are looking to join a high-energy group class or prefer a more relaxed stretching session, there's something for everyone.
