Cllr Adrian Tipple, Chairman of Broadland District Council, hosted a successful Civic Reception last month at the Horizon building on Broadland Business Park, celebrating his year in office and highlighting the Council’s ongoing initiatives. The annual event also served as an opportunity to raise vital funds for his chosen charity, the Natasha Allergy Research Foundation (NARF) – the UK’s leading food allergy charity.

Thanks to the generosity of attendees, the evening’s charity auction and raffle became the highlight of the reception, raising an impressive £3,156 to support NARF’s vital work. Guests bid on an array of fantastic prizes, including a Saxon Air flight experience, VIP match day tickets and hospitality for a Norwich City FC game, a luxury spa package, and an overnight stay on a yacht, among many others.

Cllr Adrian Tipple expressed his thanks, saying:

“The Natasha Allergy Research Foundation’s research and advocacy are making a significant, positive impact for those living with food allergies. I am incredibly proud to support this important cause during my time in office. A huge thank you to everyone who donated auction prizes and, of course, to those who placed bids. Your generosity will help NARF continue their mission to #MakeAllergyHistory.

“Thanks also goes to local caterer Claire Calton-Moore, who helped us deliver delicious food for the evening which was entirely allergy free – something which is almost unheard of for an event and invaluable to those navigating allergies.”

The success of the auction was made possible by the generosity of local businesses and individuals who contributed prizes, including Zoological Society of East Anglia, Jarrolds, The Ironmongers, Royal Norwich, National Trust, Norfolk Museum Service, Fairhaven, Three Rivers Pitch and Paddle, Norwich Theatre, The Terrace, Saxon Air, Tesco, Amaretto Delicatessen, Go Crepes, Booja-Booja, Bread Source, 3B Data Security, MMC, Norfolk Rum, Loads4Less, Red Lion Cromer, chargZ, MT Comms, and Rachel Blackburn MBE and Artist Kerwin Blackburn of US2U Consulting Ltd Art ‘By Kerwin’.

This remarkable fundraising effort reflects the community’s commitment to supporting those affected by food allergies and underscores the positive impact of local collaboration.
