Cycle into summer with Council’s free events

This summer, Broadland District Council is holding three cycle sessions at Broadland Country Park, to encourage families to get on their bikes and explore the beautiful local countryside.
Deputy Leader of Broadland District Council, Cllr Natasha Harpley, said:
"We're so lucky to live in such a beautiful part of the world and cycling is such a good way to explore the fabulous countryside right on our doorstep, whilst also being active. Cycling is a fun, low-cost activity that families can enjoy together over the holidays and beyond. These events encourage families to have a go at cycling together and also gives them the skills they need to stay safe and get the most out of their bike rides."
Residents can come along to the Country Park on 29 July and get their bikes in tip top condition at the Council’s cycle maintenance session. Trained volunteers will service visitors’ bikes and show them the skills they need to service and fix them themselves. The Council will also be giving away free puncture repair kits.
On 19 August, the Council is hosting a fun group ride which will take visitors around the park and beyond, led by an experienced instructor. Cyclists are encouraged to bring a cycle helmet and hi-vis top if they have one. If not, there will be a limited number of these available to use on the day.
During the final event on 30 September, riders can discover more about where to enjoy cycling in the county. There will also be family activities, including outside games, arts and crafts. As well as the chance to practice newly gained cycling skills around the park.
These events are open to all ages and abilities and accessible bikes are available.
