Bag a bargain and cut waste at South Norfolk reuse event

Wymondham residents are being invited to pick up a pre-loved bargain and do their bit for the environment at a special reuse and recycling event hosted by South Norfolk Council on Thursday 31 July.
The event, taking place at Kett’s Park Community & Recreation Centre from 10am to 2pm, will give residents the opportunity to recycle unwanted electrical items and textiles and take home donated items that are still in good working order.
Cllr Keith Kiddie, South Norfolk Council’s Cabinet Member for the Environment, said:
This event is a win-win for our community. It’s a chance to clear out your cupboards, pick up some pre-loved goods and make a real difference to the environment. By reusing and recycling, we’re cutting waste, supporting local people and giving quality items a second life. I’d encourage everyone to come along and get involved.
Residents can drop off small electrical items, such as kettles, toasters, laptops, mobile phones, and TVs, as well as textiles including clothes, shoes, towels, curtains, and bed linen. Items suitable for reuse will be set aside, with electricals undergoing PAT testing to ensure safety.
From 12pm to 2pm, these items will be made available for others to take away free of charge, giving residents the chance to pick up pre-loved goods while helping to reduce waste. Any items left at the end of the day will be donated to the Big C Cancer Charity.
Please note that larger appliances such as fridges and washing machines, as well as commercial waste, will not be accepted. For more information, visit our recycling events page.
