Exciting half-term activities in South Norfolk

Kids Camp

Bookings for October half-term are open for South Norfolk Council's popular holiday club, Kids Camp.

Children aged 5-15 can enjoy a programme full of fun on weekdays throughout half-term, including Halloween-themed activities, sports, crafts, and much more.

Kids Camp runs at both Long Stratton and Wymondham Leisure Centre throughout the school holidays. In addition to usual programme of entertainment, at Long Stratton children can have fun scaling the dizzy heights of Bananas Soft Play and at Wymondham children will also have exclusive use of the pool.

South Norfolk’s Council Cabinet Member for Healthy & Active Lifestyles, Cllr Kim Carsok, said:

“Our Ofsted compliant Kids Camp gets young people involved in a whole range of exciting activities to keep them active and entertained throughout the school holidays. All the activities are age appropriate and designed and instructed by staff who are dedicated to ensuring that the children have fun learning through play and trying their hand at new challenges.”

Bookings are available for half or full days. A packed lunch is available for £4.50. Kids Camp has proved to be a huge hit with parents across South Norfolk.

One parent said:

"Not only is Kids Camp useful for working parents/carers, it also helps my only child continue with developing his social skills, getting exercise and learning new things throughout the school holidays. This will go some way to help compensate for missing nursery/school time through ill health/operations/Covid."

Another said:

"My son enjoys the leisure centre kids camp the most out of all the other holiday clubs he has attended. He always has a great day and the highlight seems to always be the pool time!"

And a third parent said:

"They enjoy it and always have smiles on their faces (and arms full of crafts) when I pick them up. Staff have always been friendly and kind. It feels a really nice space for them to mix with other children."

Activities this October include making Halloween masks, cotton wool ghosts and Autumn leaf collages, archery, rounders, basketball, and football.

Kids Camp accepts childcare vouchers, making it more affordable for everyone. If you are paying using Tax Free Childcare, please email your unique code, the amount paid and the date of payment to kids.camp@southnorfolkandbroadland.gov.uk.
