Free webinar to support wildlife in Broadland

Broadland District Council and Norfolk Wildlife Trust are hosting a free webinar onWednesday 9 November to support communities and individuals in planting woodlands and hedges.

From 6pm – 7.30pm, Norfolk Wildlife Trust’s Helen Baczkowska will explain how to ensure new planting helps wildlife in just a few simple steps and answer any questions.  Cllr Judy Leggett, Porfolio Holder for the Environment, said:

“We’re pleased to present this helpful information to our residents, as part of our ongoing commitment to protecting and preserving the environment. Trees and woodlands are hugely beneficial in the fight against climate change and provide a home to a wealth of wildlife, which improves our local biodiversity.”

The Council is encouraging anyone interested in attending this virtual event to submit questions, particularly relating to their own planting plans and aspirations, in advance although there will be opportunities to ask questions during the session to. Questions can be sent to environmentalstrategy@southnorfolkandbroadland.gov.uk During the 90-minute session, attendees will also find out about £1,000 grants available from Broadland District Council for tree and hedge planting within the district.
