Pest control in South Norfolk

Pests we can treat

Rats and mice

Rats and mice are a common occurrence and they must be eradicated to prevent the problem escalating but we are only able to treat the pests listed below. (For pests not listed you will need to contact a private pest control company).

On the day of treatment, the occupant will be required to be present, so we can provide you with a treatment record detailing relevant health and safety information for the poison we use. To make your treatment as effective as possible, you should ensure there are no other food sources nearby that the rats and mice would be attracted to.

Please note:

  • if you have been feeding birds, it is wise to stop this for treatment
  • do not leave any food on the ground
  • keep outdoor food, such as pet food, home-grown fruit and veg, in sealed containers

All costs are payable at time of booking, we only offer reduced fee for rats and mice for those receiving Pension Credit, Council Tax support or Housing Benefit. No other benefit applies. Once our officers close your job record down then this will be the end of treatment and further treatment will need to be re-booked as a new visit.

Wasps and hornets

Our fully trained officers use an insecticide to treat the nest and we will need you to locate the nest prior to booking the treatment. We do not treat bees and a call out fee will apply if we are unable to treat.

We can only treat if there is a nest. Wasps will eat either very small bugs like aphids or if these are not around willow or ivy leaves. If this is the case we will not be able to treat.

Fleas

Before we carry out any treatment, we ask in order for treatment to be as effective as possible that you treat all pets, wash their bedding and thoroughly vacuum the household including all soft furnishings. Please move furniture and clear spaces to allow us the maximum floor space possible for our chemical to be effective, for example clearing under beds or moving children's toys.

Please be aware that our treatment may be less effective on hard floors. The property will need to be vacated for at least 3 hours after the treatment to allow the chemical to dry. We then recommend you vacuum the house after five days. Complete control of infestation may take several weeks but our officers will be able to advise you further on the day of treatment.

If you are asthmatic or have breathing difficulties, it is highly recommended you leave the area being treated until completed.
