Gambling Act 2005

The Gambling Act 2005 places the responsibility for the licensing of gambling premises and the issuing of gambling permits with Local Authorities in their area.

We are required to publish a written Statement of Principles (policy), setting out how we intend to exercise the licensing and enforcement powers conveyed to us under the Act.

This policy must be reviewed at least every three years, so as to ensure that it reflects current legislation, and is relevant to the issues arising in our area.

The policy will take effect from the 31 January 2025.
