Broadland Sustainable Homes Scheme

Broadland District Council have partnered with the Eastern Savings and Loan Credit Union (ESLCU) to offer a limited number of 0% interest free loans of up to £5,000 for renewable technologies and energy efficient improvements. Please see the below table for a full list of available works.

To qualify for a Broadland Sustaianable Homes Scheme loan you must:

• be a homeowner within Broadland District Council
• become a member of the ESLCU
• adhere to the installer and warranty requirements outlined below

Measures available

Broadland District Council recommend that you obtain more than one quote to ensure value for money. Please note that it is your responsibility to apply for planning permission if required for your chosen measure/s.

ESLCU loan terms

1. The loans are administered by the Eastern Savings and Loan Credit Union. The maximum amount offered is £5,000 over 3 years.
2. Please note to be eligible for the scheme you will need to pass a credit check.
3. All loan finance is subject to approval by Eastern Savings and Loan Credit Union and must adhere to Broadland District Council’s requirements.
4. Eastern Savings Credit Union will pay the balance to the installer on the applicants’ behalf, and the loan applicant will make the repayments to the Eastern Savings and Loan Credit Union.
5. You will need to join the Eastern Savings and Loan Credit Union which costs £5 plus an additional 25p per week. Once your application is assessed, you should receive a result within 3 to 4 days.
