Information Sharing Agreement between Local Authorities, Registered Providers and Supported Housing Providers

The Information Sharing Agreement (ISA) was created in response to a recommendation from Safeguarding Adults Review P (February 2024).

The aims of the ISA are to:

  • ensure the effective handover of background and safety information particularly for vulnerable clients when they move between providers.
  • improve the life circumstances and outcomes of clients who may be vulnerable to e.g., exploitation, cuckooing, risk to themselves or others.
  • to facilitate the timely sharing of information between the signatories of this agreement for the benefit of vulnerable clients to identify their support needs and identify any ongoing risk to themselves or others as a result of their individual circumstances.
  • to identify suitable emergency, temporary or permanent accommodation options or harm reduction and safeguarding measures.

If you would like to make a request to share information under the terms of the ISA:

  1. Check if the relevant organisations are participants.
  2. Make initial contact with the relevant organisation(s) to assess if the information sharing is appropriate
  3. If so, an Information Sharing Template can be completed and shared with the relevant organisation(s).
