Switching energy supplier

We have been supporting a collective energy switch since 2013. Find out more about the Norfolk Energy Switch.

If you’re looking to switch energy supplier, there are many energy comparison websites available. We recommend using an Ofgem approved site to find the best energy deal.

To make sure you get the best deal, you’ll need to have the following information to hand:

  • the name of your current supplier
  • the name of your current tariff (this will be on your bill)
  • the amount of energy you use
  • how you currently pay, and how you would like to pay with a new supplier

Not interested in switching? Contact your supplier to make sure you’re on their best available energy tariff.

Buying heating oil

If you use heating oil in your home, you may benefit from joining an oil-buying group.

Buying through a collective scheme can save you money as discounts are available for large orders and delivery costs are shared.

Norfolk residents could benefit from Thinking Fuel. Community Action Norfolk’s community oil buying scheme delivered in partnership with AF-Affinity. For more information and to sign up go to Thinking Fuel.

You can also check your local parish council website to see if there are any other local groups are available.

Reducing heat loss

If you want to save money on your energy bills, installing insulation will reduce heat loss.

Not sure where to start? Check your Energy Performance Certificate to see what measures have been recommended.

If you haven’t moved house in the last 10 years or live in a listed building one will not be available.

Generating renewable energy

Thinking of installing solar panels? We support a collective buying scheme called Solar Together.

Generating your own electricity may help reduce your electricity bill.

By installing solar panels, once you’ve paid for the installation, your electricity costs will be reduced. Use the Energy Saving Trust's solar calculator to see how much you could save.
