Empty homes

Empty homes can become empty for several reasons. They can attract antisocial behaviour or crime, become overgrown or become a target for fly-tipping. They can also fall into poor condition and become a safety risk. We aim to offer support and advice to bring properties back into use.

If you know of an empty property, please report it to your council area using the form below. Every reported property will be investigated, usually leading to property owners being contacted and support given to bring properties back into use. If you want to be updated around progress of our investigation, we will be able to give some updates of our intentions and planned actions that are not restricted by General Data Protection Regulation.

For more information or general advice about the benefits of bringing an empty property back into use, please contact the Housing Standards team.
