Substandard supermarket food

Food businesses such as supermarkets and restaurants strive to produce food which is safe to eat from premises which are clean and hygienic

If a problem does arise we are here to investigate complaints which may be of public health risk. We will not investigate where there is no associated public health risk and you can see a list of common complaints here. Where food has been prepared or purchased in Broadland or South Norfolk and you are concerned about a potential public health risk, please contact the Food Safety Team using the details below. If you purchased the food from outside of our district, you must instead contact the authority based in that area. You can find a local authority by searching the postcode here.

Most supermarkets and food manufacturers have a complaints procedure enabling customers to return food products. They will usually provide a refund and advise their suppliers who will be able to investigate the complaint.
