- Enhancing our environment
- Growing a prosperous economy
- Enriching our communities
- Moving with the times
What are our plans?
- A new doctors’ surgery and pharmacy in Hethersett.
- Large-scale improvements in Wymondham, including to the town centre, area around the station, and redevelopment of Kett’s Park Leisure Centre.
- Improving our customer services to make it much more convenient for you.
- Preparing for Local Government Reorganisation in a way that best represents South Norfolk’s interests.
- Investing in Hethel roundabout to support physical infrastructure for the Cambridge Norwich Tech Corridor, enabling growth and additional employment.
- Redeveloping Framingham Earl Leisure Centre.
- A number of initiatives to improve biodiversity in South Norfolk and increase access to green spaces.
- Deliver an expanded and improved range of recycling services, including rolling out a household food waste collection service.
- Work further with Town and Parish Councils and community groups to support initiatives to develop stronger, more resilient communities.
We have already:
- Completely refurbed our leisure centre swimming pool in Diss, modernising the space for our customers, making it more accessible and reducing the carbon footprint of the Swim Centre.
- Had successful investment into the Norwich Research Park, a site that focuses on food, health, and life sciences.
- Delivered a new multi-use Sports Pavilion, the Jubilee Centre, within St Giles Park development, working in partnership with Big Sky Living and Cringleford Parish Council.
- Improved heating and energy systems at Council properties, including temporary accommodation houses and a solar installation at Long Stratton Leisure Centre, supported by funding from the Public Sector Decarbonisation Fund.
- Invested in housing to support our residents, expanding our temporary accommodation to 75 homes.
- Since launching our Business Builder scheme in 2022, we have helped over 200 businesses secure grants totalling over £1,000,000. This investment has accelerated growth, supported start-up companies, created jobs, and is boosting the local economy.
- Successfully campaigned to bring forward the Long Stratton Bypass and worked with Norfolk County Council, Norfolk Homes Ltd, and Norfolk Land Ltd to bring forward a scheme which will deliver 1,800 homes and new employment opportunities. This collaborative approach resulted in a significant funding commitment from government and has enabled housing development alongside the road being delivered.
