A County Council vacancy may arise for a number of reasons; a councillor may have resigned, passed away, or have failed to attend any meetings for six months.

Norfolk County Council - Old Catton Division
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN Notice is hereby given that a casual vacancy has arisen in the office of Councillor for the Old Catton Electoral Division. An election to fill the vacancy will be held within 35 days (computed in accordance with Section 243 of the Local Government Act 1972) after notice in writing has been given to me by two local government electors for the area.
